Next week we take on our closest competitors. We scored very well last night after our excellent practice sessions over the weekend. Let's do it again and put up some scores like Sharon and I had in this game Saturday.
They've been hot lately but if we keep working hard, we can handle them. We've made a lot of progress in the past month. Tracking our shots is helping us to identify our weaknesses and we're addressing those weaknesses when we practice. It has been paying off.
They're rotating five bowlers so we can't be sure which four will be in their lineup. They had six but Sean hasn't been bowling with them for several weeks and I thought I saw him bowling in the Penny Pinchers league. I figured the handicap for each possible lineup, excluding Sean. If Terry sits this one out, we'll be getting 31 pins. If Rod sits, we get 25 pins. If Gerald sits, we get 10 pins. If Mike sits out, we give them 4 pins.
I THINK WE SHOULD PREPARE FOR THE WORST. I HAVE AN IDEA FOR SAT PRACTICE. IN ONE OF OUR PRACTICE GAMES, WE SHOULD TAKE THEY SCORES/AVG AND SEE IF WE CAN BEAT THEIR SCORES.
We can do that. Maybe bowl a warm up game, a 10-pin spare game, then bowl three games like we're bowling on league night. We have a list of their scores to use as a goal.
Sharon and I had a really good practice yesterday. We were on a pair of fairly dry lanes so we broke out our light-oil bowling balls to match the conditions. Sharon shot really well with her new Jewel by 900 Global. She also broke out her new polyester spare ball and hit 65% of her ten pins (13 for 20). How does everyone feel about Saturday and Sunday morning practices?
If Sean does bowl for them, they're not using that bogus 171 average on the sheet. He still has less than nine games bowled so they have to use his book average of 189. (Yes, I looked him up.)
GREAT JOB BLOCKHEADS LAST NIGHT. NEXT WEEK IS OUR BIG GAME WEEK AGAINST ONE PIN STANDING.
ReplyDeleteI TALK TO THE COMPETITION LAST NIGHT, AND THE'RE FIRED UP AND READY TO GO.
