We're On Top

After completing the fourth week of our season, we're in first place with a record of 12-4. We were 11-1 after three weeks but the Icemen took 3 of 4 from us last week. We had to bowl without Olivia (who was away in Las Vegas) which took away part of our edge.

In the first game we held the lead until the final frame. Closing out the tenth, Mike Kendrick picked up a difficult spare and followed it with a 9-count to wrestle the victory from our grasp by four pins. We were close to losing the second game as well but with the Icemen holding a 19-pin lead, The Coach nailed a strike and a spare in the clutch to pull out a 1-pin victory. In the third game, we put up a score of 538 which would have been enough to win either of the first two games. However, the Icemen bombed us with a 598 to claim the third game and the edge in total pinfall for the night. Stan Wilson was on fire for the Icemen. He hit a 584 series which damaged our cause and moved him up from 50th to 3rd place in the qualifying round of the AMF tournament. We bowled well but the opposition bowled better so all we can do is tip our caps to them.
