SPORT CHALLENGE DOUBLES 23 - WEEK 14 RESULTS

This was the final week of the season before our sweeper next week. It was a double position round so we bowled both sets against the same team. We were in 15th place so that matched us with the 16th place team of Kadi Whiteside and Curtis Elmore.

Olivia bowled a lot better than I did. She hit her average in three of the four games while I didn't reach mine a single time. In the first set we won the first game by seven pins and lost the second set by one. In the second set we lost by thirty then won by two. With the exception of the third game, all of them went down to the wire. Olivia won three of the four points in her individual matchup with Kadi while Curtis took all four from me. We earned two points for total pinfal in the first set but Kadi and Curtis turned the tables on us in the second set. The first set went our way, 6-4 but the second set went 3-7 for a total of 9-11 on the night. Our record for the season was 106.5-163.5.

  1. I downloaded a new bowling stat application for my phone called My Lane Play and used it to track and score last night’s games. (I’ll soon write in detail about My Lane Play.) The data accumulated by this application revealed a lot about just how awful my bowling was last night. For instance:
    1. 11 strikes out of 43 attempts (25.6%).
    2. 9 splits (converted 0).
    3. 17 open frames out of 40.
    4. 15 of 32 spare attempts converted (46%).
    5. 15 of 23 non-split spare attempts converted (65%)
    6. 6 of 9 on single pin spare attempts.
    7. 1 of 4 on the 3-6-10.

This extraoridnary application provided a breakdown of just about everything I did. I will go into greater detail in a separate post.
