Let There Be Light!

We decided to meet for some practice at Pinole Valley Lanes Saturday afternoon after work. Sharon Connally and Darlene Graham were invited to join us but only Darlene was able to make it. There was a tournament going on so there weren't any lanes available when we met shortly after 4:00 PM.

As we waited, we went to Al Louie's Pro Shop so Olivia could look for a new ball. She's seeking one that will hook more than her Ebonite Tornado. When we left the pro shop, a couple of lanes opened up and we were able to start our practice. Darlene caught up with us around 5:30 as we completed our second game.

The Coach was good for one more game but he had to leave at 6:00. Olivia, Darlene, and I decided to stay and continue bowling. We had just finished the fifth frame of the next game when the power went out. We waited in the hope the power would be restored so we could at least finish our game. However, we eventually learned that the power was out throughout much of Pinole and Hercules and it may be awhile before PG&E could get it restored. It was particularly unfortunate for Darlene as she had four marks out of five and was on a pace to score 178.

While it was disappointing we didn't get to finish our bowling, on the positive side, we weren't charged for the games we bowled. The power outage also rendered the computers and cash registers inoperable so the manager told us we didn't have to pay. It's hard to complain too much about the power outage when it gave us a free practice session.
