Wednesday Night Practice

This time we're going to try Kentwig Lanes in Vallejo. According to their ad in Bowling World, it's $1.00 per game after 7:30 on Wednesdays. The price is certainly right. The last time I bowled there was when the Yankees and Padres were playing in the World Series. That was 1998, I think.

Kentwig is easy to find. Take the Magazine Street exit after you cross the Carquinez Bridge and it's right there.

  1. Kentwig's ad was wrong. I called to make sure the $1.00 per game rate applied at 7:30. The young man I spoke to said he didn't know they had an ad in the Bowling World newspaper but the time was clearly wrong. The $1.00 special starts at 9:00, not 7:30.

We didn't want to wait until 9:00 so we decided to skip Kentwig and bowl at Pinole Valley Lanes. Olivia, Sharon and I got there at 6:00 but it was packed. We decided to get some dinner at a nearby Thai restaurant and come back at 8:00 when lanes were expected to be available. I contacted The Coach and he agreed to meet us at PVL at 8:00.

The bowling went pretty well. The Coach was on fire. He scored 218 in one game and pretty high in the others as well. Sharon was trying to work her way out of a problem with her ball rolling over the thumb hole.

I shot some video which I will try to edit and upload tonight.
